This common intertidal hermit crab inhabits seagrass beds, rocky shores, reef flats, and pebble beach. It is also found on coral rubble and sandy muddy substrates near mangrove areas (Ref. 81753).

Members of the order Decapoda are mostly gonochoric. Mating behavior: Precopulatory courtship ritual is common (through olfactory and tactile cues); usually indirect sperm transfer.
