Feeds mainly on epipelagic fish, Pleuragramma antarcticum (Ref. 5056), Electrona antarctica (Ref. 4633), squid (Ref. 4633), Antarctic krill Euphausia superba (Ref. 3930). Feeds by surface seizing and plunging; pursuit plunging; pack-ice.
