Body: elongated; more than twice as long as it is wide. Valves and narrow girdle: Dirty white to light ochre in color. Lateral areas: Highly elevated and marked with concentric ridges. Central areas: Longitudinal chains of granules (Ref. 340).
Minimum depth based from Ref. 289; to be replaced with a better reference. Intertidal to 40 m (Ref. 289). Supralittoral and mediolittoral zones at depths up to 200 m (Ref. 2754).

Members of the class Polyplacophora are mostly gonochoric. Life cycle: Eggs hatch into lecitotrophic planktonic trocophore larvae (no veliger stage) which later metamorphose and settle on the bottom as young adults.
