Inhabits muddy (Ref. 2780) to muddy fine sand bottoms, at depths between 30-50 m (Ref. 96521). Also found on silt (Ref. 123767). Free-living (Ref. 3123). A deposit feeder (Ref. 3477).

Members of the class Bivalvia are mostly gonochoric, some are protandric hermaphrodites. Life cycle: Embryos develop into free-swimming trocophore larvae, succeeded by the bivalve veliger, resembling a miniature clam.
