					Epibiotic (Ref. 97531).  Occurs in littoral and sublittoral areas to depths of 20 m.  Inhabits rocky bottoms (Ref. 435).  Also on rubble, on molluscan and other shells (Ref. 97531).  Opportunistic omnivore with diversified diet and high nocturnal activity.  Forages primarily on polychaetes, algae, crabs and mollusks (Ref. 104088).				
			
			
			
			
			
			
				
					Members of the order Decapoda are mostly gonochoric.  Mating behavior:  Precopulatory courtship ritual is common (through olfactory and tactile cues); usually indirect sperm transfer (Ref. 833).
