Subtidal (Ref. 106854). Found on shallow water among sea grasses and algae, e.g., off-shore Sargassum sp. Only Kemponia species found on floating Sargassum sp. (Ref. 81686).

Members of the order Decapoda are mostly gonochoric. Mating behavior: Precopulatory courtship ritual is common (through olfactory and tactile cues); usually indirect sperm transfer.
