Shell moderate in size, with 6 or more rounded whorls. Usually decollate, sutures are impressed. Numerous strong axial ribs present on each whorl, about 15 on body whorl. Outer lip flared and thickened; canals indistinct; columella smooth and thickened. Shell is grey, with the aperture being greyish white. Operculum is light brown and horny.
Occur at back of mangroves in upper intertidal levels. Arboreal, secreting mucus to hold the shell against the trees (Ref. 128877).

Members of the order Neotaenioglossa are mostly gonochoric and broadcast spawners. Life cycle: Embryos develop into planktonic trocophore larvae and later into juvenile veligers before becoming fully grown adults.
