Found on the continental shelf (Ref. 106090). Occurs at depths below 50 m, in coarse sand substrate (Ref. 96391). Epibenthic (Ref. 87524). A ubiquitous, free-living species (Ref. 96391). Forages for food on substrate (Ref. 96377).
Members of the order Decapoda are mostly gonochoric. Mating behavior: Precopulatory courtship ritual is common (through olfactory and tactile cues); usually indirect sperm transfer.
