Collected from the sublittoral zone, from low tide up to a depth of 200 m. In the Vainameri, north-eastern Baltic Sea, prefers rocky to gravelly substrate (Ref. 95753). An epibenthic species (Ref. 95730). A herbivore (Ref. 96470) on microalgae (Ref. 95728).

Members of the order Neritopsina are mostly gonochoric and broadcast spawners. Life cycle: Embryos develop into planktonic trocophore larvae and later into juvenile veligers before becoming fully grown adults.
