Minimum depth range from Ref. 119629. Ahermatypic. Attached to rocky substrates, from immediate subtidal to depths >30 m (Ref. 119628). Uncommon on overhangs and in reef crevices at depths between 6 to 106 m (Ref. 88997). In Hong Kong, found in a marine cave (Ref. 120542).

Life cycle and mating behavior Maturity | Reproduction | Spawning | Eggs | Fecundity | Larvae

Members of the class Anthozoa are either gonochoric or hermaphroditic. Mature gametes are shed into the coelenteron and spawned through the mouth. Life cycle: The zygote develops into a planktonic planula larva. Metamorphosis begins with early morphogenesis of tentacles, septa and pharynx before larval settlement on the aboral end.
