Short description Morphology

Two fragments, larger 1 cm high, basally with a few stolons, probably indicating polysiphony in colony. Main fragment with 40 hydrothecae and giving rise to two secondary branches provided with five and 12 hydrothecae. Both second-order branches separated by ten hydrothecae and originating laterally at hydrothecal base on the same side of main fragment, though branches probably having spiral arrangement. Hydrothecae alternately arranged in one plane, set close together; hydrothecal distal part almost reaching basal part of following hydrotheca and approximately middle of adcauline wall of alternate hydrotheca. Branch internodes sometimes indistinct. Hydrotheca almost cylindrical and adnate to internode for approximately two thirds of its adcauline length. Free portion of adcauline hydrothecal wall straight or slightly convex. Abcauline hydrothecal wall straight or with a slight basal swelling. Hydrothecal aperture directed upwards and provided with three blunt cusps separated by deep embayments.
