Family:  Littorinidae (periwinkles)
Max. size:  4 cm SHH (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthic; marine
Distribution:  Western Pacific: Indonesia, Japan and Philippines.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Sometimes used as food, but mainly collected for its decorative shell (Ref. 349). Also on limestone cliffs. High in the intertidal zone, well above high levels of neap tide (Ref. 349).
