Distribution:  Northeast Atlantic: UK England, Spain and France.
Biology:  Members of the class Demospongiae are hermaphroditic. Life cycle: The zygote develops into parenchymella larva (free-swimming) before settling down on a substrate where it grows into a young sponge (Ref. 833).
