Distribution:  Indo-Pacific, Atlantic Ocean, Antarctic, and the Arctic. Mostly polar, but also in subtropical, temperate and boreal climates.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Meroplanktonic (Ref. 120471). Estuarine, on bay and nearshore (Ref. 116013). This is an epiphytic species found on green and brown algae, often on Macrocystis pyrifera (Ref. 87801). Colonial (Ref. 19).
