Family:  Ommastrephidae (flying squids and arrow squids), subfamily: Todarodinae
Max. size:  16 cm ML (male/unsexed)
Environment:  pelagic; marine; depth range 400 - 570 m
Distribution:  Pacific Ocean: from Hawaiian Islands to Midway Island.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Mantle length at first maturity: 11.0 or 12.0 cm. Found on mid-water depths of the open ocean (Ref. 843).
