Distribution:  Northern Atlantic, Indian Ocean and the Mediterranean. Climate: Subtropical, Cosmopolitan.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Inhabits fine to coarse sand mostly with detritus or mud; also reported in Amphioxus sand and among algae (Ref. 2243).
