Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 1 - 20 m
Distribution:  Indo-Pacific: Somalia to Madagascar and Cocos Islands.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found along the neritic zone, in reef areas (Ref. 97241). Subtidal (Ref. 106854). Members of the order Decapoda are mostly gonochoric. Mating behavior: Precopulatory courtship ritual is common (through olfactory and tactile cues); usually indirect sperm transfer (Ref. 833).
