Family:  Strombidae (conchs)
Max. size:  20 cm ShH (male/unsexed)
Environment:  benthic; marine; depth range 0 - 5 m
Distribution:  Indo-Pacific: from western Indonesia to western Polynesia; north to southern Japan, and south to northern Queensland and New Caledonia.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Collected for shell trade and occasionally for subsistence (Ref. 349). Found on live coral reef areas (Ref. 799) as well as under or among dead coral slabs and boulders (Ref. 349). Also found in shallow subtidal zones. Occurs at the low tide mark (Ref. 349).
