Complementary nematocysts (i.e. nematocysts other than small microbasic euryteles) heterotrichous anisorhizas; female blastostyles completely reduced (sometimes a few degenerated tentacles remaining on top), spadix bifurcated, mature eggs scattered along the pedicel thickened by a perisarc capsule typically fenestrated; male blastostyles completely reduced (Ref. 3086). |
Found from intertidal to a depth of 20 m, on artificial substrates and rocks (Ref. 3100). Known from tidal inlets, sounds, caves and shallow coastal benthic habitats (< 25 m) (Ref. 86643). |
