Environment:  benthic; marine; depth range 3 - 30 m
Distribution:  Eastern Atlantic and the Mediterranean: from Azores, Gibraltar, to Greece and Syria.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Also found in semidark cave zones (Ref. 105671) and Posidonia beds (Ref. 105668). Symbiotic with the sea anemone Calliactis parasitica (Ref. 106082). In general, most species of hermit crab are omnivorous detritivores (Ref. 106979).
