Distribution:  Indo-Pacific and Western Central Atlantic: Eastern Africa and Red Sea to Hawaii and Easter Island. Tropical and subtropical.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Facultative relationship with Lopha cristagalli (Ref. 69553). Members of the order Decapoda are mostly gonochoric. Mating behavior: Precopulatory courtship ritual is common (through olfactory and tactile cues); usually indirect sperm transfer (Ref. 833).
