Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 0 - 80 m
Distribution:  Western Atlantic: Caribbean Sea.
Diagnosis:  Colonies form flat, unifacial, explanate or encrusting plates, commonly arranged in whorls. Corallites are in concentric valleys. Centers are widely spaced. Long and short septo-costae clearly alternate. Rust brown in color, usually with pale margins. Mouths are white and star-shaped.
