Environment:  reef-associated; marine; depth range 3 - 15 m
Distribution:  Indo-West Pacific: from Sri Lanka, north to Ogasawara Island, south to Australia, then east to Fiji.
Diagnosis:   
Biology:  Found in subtidal areas on submerged reef tops, ledges in walls and rocky slopes. Often found in indentations or crevices in reef surface (Ref. 86439). Also in wave-washed lagoon margins (Ref. 98471).
