Short description Morphology

Bright pink, having a row of finger-like papillae around the edge of the mantle. Papillae are also pink, with a whitish tip. There is one papilla in the center of the back and a few extra on each side, forming a sparse inner row of papillae. Few small pink gills form a row across the mantle (Ref. 79924). This species does not have oral tentacles (Ref. 125532).

Occur in rock reef areas, to depths of 20 meters (Ref. 125532). Feeds on similarly colored pink encrusting bryozoan (Ref. 79924).

Members of the order Nudibranchia are simultaneous hermaphrodites. Mating behavior: Both individuals darts their penis toward each other to induce one to act as a male and the other as the female. The victorious one to penetrate the body wall is the dominant male. Life cycle: Eggs are deposited on a substratum where they develop and hatch into (planktonic) vestigial veliger larval stage and further grow as adults.
